Even of Jesus it is true that " he learned obedience through the things which he suffered," Heb 5:8. Obedience, even for him was something to be learned. Certainly we can not reasonably hope to do his deeds without adopting his form of life. And we cannot adopt his form of life without engaging in his disciplines- maybe even more than he did and surely adding others demanded by our much more troubled condition.

This whole cd is awesome but this is my favorite song on it. NE-ways....it's been quite a while since I've got my xanga on and just wanted to holla out a Merry Christmas to the masses that subscribe to me. All three of you .
Wish this season didn't have to be so stressful. I guess it only is because we choose to make it so, but if you don't get all into the decorating and money spending it's almost as if you are made to feel guilty for not participating. I actually like the decorating and all (even though most of the stuff has pagan roots), but it just adds on to the list of things to do that seems to keep getting longer and longer. Becoming a Monk is sounding pretty good to me right now . I've kinda already been there and done that though.
I also don't mind the giving/spending, except that most of the spending seems to be on those who don't really need it. That also is a choice though.
Wow, what a joyful Christmas entry this is. Man, thank God that Jesus was born! Get joyful on THAT!

NIV Holy Bible

Yeah, can you believe it...I'm actually reading the HOLY BIBLE. Not like the whole thing today, just going over one of my most favoritest chapters...John 15. Jesus uses the word ABIDE about 9 times in the first ten verses.( Abide means to remain, continue or dwell. ) I think this abiding business is pretty important stuff, as we can't bear fruit unless we abide in Him. From v.10 I'm getting that the key to abiding is obedience, or "keeping his commandments"......and vv.12-13 tell us what that commandment is : Love one another as He has loved us. Wow, in v.11 He says that He is telling us this so that His joy may remain in us and that our joy may be full. So that means joy comes from obedience. Hmmmmm......I think I get this backwards sometimes. Like, make me happy and I'll obey you. He also say's that we are His friends if we do whatever He commands (v.14). So how about this:

ABIDE = OBEDIENCE (v.10) = LOVE (vv.12-13) = JOY (v.11) & FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD (v.14)
